WEB SITE: AFTER WORLD DOMINATION
After several years as a Web developer, I had the opportunity to take a class in Web and Mobile Design. At the time, some of the students had not planned to go beyond the creation of a paper portfolio, but I created a real site with my project from class. The portfolio is the prototype and the site is proof of concept of a shopping cart Web site. Educational Fair Use Law allows the use of images in the project and the Web site for about 3 years, for as long as credit is given.
The portfolio slideshow describes the fictitious company for whom I developed the Web site, in addition to the development process. It includes some prospective Web site users to imply how they might use the site. Lastly, the responsive story suggests what the Web site might look like on several different platforms: desktop, tablet, and phone.
The Web site uses an animated logo, and responsive backgrounds that add to the screen in ways that differ from displaying content on solid backgrounds. As a real site, the design would overshadow its content, and would be improved for actual use by being less busy. However, it was intended as a learning experience.
The prototype was developed for Firefox, therefore it may not display properly on other browsers. The link to the Web site prototype is www.ormer.net/AWD.
